(or click here for your specific departure/retun info)
The station in Bay Shore is about 1 mile from the ferry. After arriving in Bay Shore take one of the local taxi services (Tommy’s or David’s). It’s a $3 ride to the terminal. Otherwise, you may walk if you wish (it’s about a 15 minute walk).
By Car:
From Brooklyn and points south: Take the Belt Parkway to the Southern State East to Exit 42 South (5th Ave. Bay Shore). Make left off ramp and then a quick right onto Fifth Avenue. Take Fifth Avenue to the first traffic light after the LIRR tracks. Turn left onto Union Boulevard. At the third light, make right onto Fourth Avenue, which becomes Maple Avenue after the next light (Main Street). Ferries leave from the first parking lot on the left. Parking for the weekend is $40 and the lot fills up early, but there are other lots nearby.
From Manhattan: Take the Midtown Tunnel to the L.I.E. to exit 53 South (Sagtikos Parkway) to Southern State Parkway Eastern Long Island (left fork). Follow directions from Southern State above.
You can also use Google Maps (Double True!) to plot out alternate routes by plugging in your starting address.
If you go by car, your costs would be gas, tolls, and parking.
By Taxi:
Another way to get to F.I. is by taking Tommy’s Taxi Service ($16 from N.Y.C. directly to F.I. Ocean Beach ferry terminal). Call Tommy’s Taxi on LI for schedule, fare, pickup points and times of pickups.
